PRINT OUT THE 2009-2010 LIBRARY MONITOR APPLICATION ATTACHED BELOW! Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.s) About the Eleanor Roosevelt Library Do I need a library card to check out books? The I.D. cards of I.S. 143 and WHEELS students function as library cards. At this time, Health Academy students do not need a card to check out books. How many books can you check out at one time? There is a two book checkout limit. When can I come to the library? Students can get a pass from their principal or team advocate in the lunchroom and come to the library after eating. Students without complete passes cannot be admitted to the library, so make sure they have your full name, date, time and signature of the adult in charge of the lunchroom. What types of books do you have? The library has books that relate to the classes offered as well as books that reflect the interests of students. Look for books at the library website. Do you have computers? Yes, there are 10 computers in the library. What can I do on the computers? Only school-related work may be done on the computers. Students can print out final copies of projects in the library. Most gaming and social networking sites such as MySpace have been blocked by the NYC Dept. of Education. Do you have other items besides books? We subscribe to several magazines that students can use for research or just enjoyment. We also have a collection of books on tape as well as Playaways. Do you have a book fair? Yes, we host one in the fall and one in the spring. Check the website for the dates of the upcoming fair.
